I do not disappear

A woman is not wrong for being who she is. Marriage does not quiet her inner voice, nor does it ask her to loosen her grip on truth. What may appear as resistance is often self-respect, held gently. She may rely, and still be free. Care does not mean ownership, and provision does not grant control. Her spirit is not something to be managed. She moves in her own rhythm, keeps her own boundaries, grows in her own time — even under the same roof, even in the ordinary moments of living.
